The mission of the Center for Civic Education is to promote an enlightened and responsible citizenry committed to democratic principles and actively engaged in the practice of democracy in the United States and other countries.

Legacy International is a non-profit educational organization with offices in Virginia. Since 1979, Legacy International's leadership development and civic education programs have influenced the lives of thousands of high school students and educators. Working with both youths and adults, Legacy's carefully designed programs use structured learning experiences, cross-cultural relations techniques, principles of co-existence, leadership, community service, global competency, and conflict resolution.
Legacy International and CCEI have worked together since 2003 in Indonesian Youth Leadership Program funded by the US Department of State.
